Fotosmile puts a big grin on the face of happy amusement park visitors The earliest research performed in the laboratory led to a

SINCE 1994, Italian company Fotosmile has been manufacturing its own unique brand of advanced solutions in the photographic field for the amusement market, representing a reliable partner for parks. Thanks to the passion and enthusiasm that led the company’s co-workers to develop new and stable solutions, nowadays the company boasts a wide and complete range of products, including DigiSmile, the on-ride picture technology; FotoSmart, the brand dedicated to automatic photo booths; DigiLab, the multi-functional photo point; and the DogTag System, all solutions that have earned the confidence of the clients around the world. Now, after years of research and on-site trials, Fotosmile has

introduced to the global market MovieSmile, the on-ride video technology that is operative for 100 per cent of ride time and able to acquire all of the action filmed during the ride, assuring satisfaction not only to guests, but also to operators. Internal research began in 2004 when Fotosmile started

combining the wide competences acquired for the creation of its previous successful technologies and brought them to a higher level. The company had at its disposal all it took to develop the on- ride video technology - high engineering standards as well as a broad experience in the amusement field.

pilot installation on a tower coaster in October 2009. This was soon followed by the official first installation of the MovieSmile system on a Vekoma roller coaster in Gardaland, Italy, in December 2009. In the wake of the installation, Gardaland reported flawless stability and reliability in the technology and it was not long until the group was called to substitute a non- working video system in Port Aventura, Spain. Both Gardaland and Port Aventure have already confirmed

the installation of MovieSmile on other attractions for the upcoming season. For Gardaland it will be installed on a new roller coaster, while Port Aventura has chosen to activate the video system on an existing high-end attraction. According to Fotosmile, several parks worldwide have already

requested the technology for their best-known attractions. Backed up by the certainty of having manufactured a

continually operative and efficient technology, Fotosmile now looks forward to developing new solutions and evolutions of the MovieSmile system. “As with all our other products, special care is dedicated even to the smallest details of the final product. Furthermore, the company is currently working on additional applications of the system, elements that will allow

us to offer a unique, complete and custom-tailored technology,” the company said.
