Scorpion’s Tail installation a boon for Noah’s Ark

WATERPAR Waterparks

FORMING part of its strategy to continually refresh its ride portfolio, Noah’s Ark Waterpark in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, unveiled a new ride, Scorpion’s Tail, in May. According to Tim Gantz, co-owner of Noah’s Ark, which

remains the largest waterpark in the US, the response to the Whitewater West-built attraction has been “fantastic.” “Everyone who gets off the ride states that it was the

best water ride they have ever ridden,” he told InterPark in an exclusive interview. “And many visitors go as far as saying it was the best ride - meaning it beats any dry ride - they have ever been on.” Scorpion’s Tail is North America’s first looping waterslide

and is also the tallest and largest of its kind in the world, with smaller versions existing in Slovenia, Germany and Japan. The ride features a launch rocket that plummets into a freefall down an enclosed chute at a top speed of nearly 40mph and enters a looping slide. It stands 10 stories high and is visible from afar in the Dells. “Business if very good for Noah’s Ark,” Gantz said. “It is

the first summer in four years where the weather felt like a real summer and so we are experiencing the result of pent up demand.” Noah’s Ark now boasts 49 waterslides, two giant wave

pools, two “endless rivers,” four children’s waterplay areas, bumper boats, 18-hole miniature golf and two high- capacity group amusement rides.

of 12 and compliments the larger waterslides and structures in the facility. It has a central Aquadek climb and slide feature with a variety of small slides and water events. Separated from the larger children, the area offers a safe haven

for parents to allow their children to play with their own age group, interacting with spray nozzles and a variety of activities.
