CAAPA appoints new overseas sales agent

ASIA

AS the Chinese manufacturing industry continues to expand its reach on the global attractions market, the Chinese Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions has appointed a new UK-based sales agent to handle European and US bookings for its flagship annual exhibition. The 21st China Attractions Expo takes place

at the Beijing Exhibition Hall from March 4-6, 2011 and numerous high-profile theme park and amusement product equipment manufacturers and distributors have already confirmed their attendance at the show. The CAAPA-led exhibition is considered

among industry circles to be the ideal opportunity for theme park and attractions manufacturers, distributors and operators to meet and discuss new business ideas. The 2010 edition of CAE attracted more than 100 exhibitors from around the world, including Zamperla, Technical Park, Sanderson Group, Golden Horse, Vekoma, Jora Vision, Coin Tech and Whitewater West. In an effort to increase its ties with overseas markets, CAAPA has appointed UK-based agent

L&A Business to handle CAE bookings from Europe and the US. L&A’s involvement in the exhibition has been labelled a natural fit, primarily because the company understands the requirements of exhibitors and has several years’ experience in providing advertising, marketing and PR services for the leisure and attractions industry between Chinese and western markets. Projection Design ‘brings France to life’ at Shanghai Expo

NORWEGIAN firm Projection Design has supplied 80 of its F32 series DLP projectors for use in the French Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo 2010. The task of implementing the AV systems at the pavilion

fell to the Paris office of ETC, which has specialised in the design and automation of large-scale image projection since its formation in 1981. ETC’s joint project managers David Baillot and Nicolas

Paineau worked on-site to ensure the smooth installation of the AV systems after the company was awarded the tender to supply and operate the multi-media equipment by the pavilion’s state-backed organising body COFRES. The project was designed by world-famous French

architect Jacques Ferrier, who explained: “At this expo the projectors are arranged in pairs or in fours, depending on the size of the screen being used. The theme of the pavilion is ‘The Sensual City’ and the idea is that visitors to the Pavilion experience some of the sights, sounds and smells that give France its unique style, panache and sense of glamour.” Ferrier added: “Multi-media technology plays a key role

here, as each screen shows content from a different region of France, giving visitors an insight into what makes that region special.”
