ROBYN COURTESY OF THE ARTIST
The idea of an underground pop star seems to be a paradox, but that’s exactly what Robyn is. Her 1997 debut went platinum, but since then, it has been a battle for her to get back to that level, even as she reaches new artistic heights. The 31-year-old Swede specializes in electro-disco- pop songs that have made her a favorite mostly of tastemakers and dance-floor regulars. Why the niche fan base? Who knows. It’s not because her songs aren’t addictively catchy. One listen to “Cry When You Get Older” from her new album, “Body Talk, Pt. 1,” and it’ll be stuck in your head longer than any Ke$ha tune. (The big difference being that you’ll be happy that’s the case.) // 6 p.m. Monday. 9:30 Club, 815 V St. NW. 202-265-0930. www.930. com. $25.
