Sadolin Classic colours and protects timber clad ‘watermill’

Sadolin Classic Wood Protection has been used to decorate and protect the exterior timber cladding on an Oxfordshire building project, recently featured on the TV programme Grand Designs. Inspired by an image of a West Virginian watermill, self-builder Chris Ostwald designed the building with his architect Brian Johnson and had it made in America and shipped over in kit form. The manufacturer, Timberpeg, recommended that the cedar cladding panels should be all treated immediately with a quality woodcare product and that further coats should be applied in situ. Chris approached Sadolin for advice. He wanted a richly coloured woodcare product with a translucent finish to allow the natural beauty of the cedar to show through. He also wanted long term weather protection and easy maintenance. Following the woodcare specialist’s recommendations he decorated and protected his cladding with Sadolin Classic, renowned for its superior level of protection and durability, choosing the red tones of Caramel Crisp from the extensive colour palette.
