to produce a one design 100ft trimaran that is a clear development
of Sodeb’O and Idec 2. These designs hold the singlehanded round
the world record and the 24 hour solo record. They look stunning
and have proven highly competitive. This development is designed
for crewed sailing and is more powerful. These boats can provide
high-octane close quarter racing on short courses and can also
provide a platform for training Arab’s future sailing elite.
The design concept of these giant multihulls relies on the long central hull that
extends in length well beyond the floats. This increases safety at high speeds in
rough sea conditions, preventing dangerous nosedives whilst sailing downwind and
allowing for high average speeds over long periods of time. We have seen the high
average speeds Sodebo and IDEC 2 have achieved during their recent solo round

As race boats they are suited to grand prix round the buoy events, coastal races,
the proposed Indian Ocean triangle and the marathon non- stop round the world
race course.
Built by Boatspeed in Australia the first Arabian 100 will be assembled in Salalah
(Oman) in a brand new state of the art facility, created with an emphasis on
apprenticeships to develop a local high tech boat building industry whilst promoting
the region’s investment and sporting opportunities.
