recommendations were good,” said Scherr. “We were doing a lot of comparisons on big purchases, keeping price and quality in mind. For us, a lot of the decisions came down to quality and support.”
After all the equipment was selected, Scherr and Morgan spent countless hours and late nights meeting with Chris Webster, their Patterson territory manager, going through the new practice list to select sundries and medications for their opening order.
From the time that Scherr and Morgan first met Fletcher to the time the doors opened at Valley Dog & Cat Hospital, about one year had elapsed. The build took four months to complete, and with the exception of a few small bumps, the bulk of the build-out process went smoothly. “When we first started this project, Shani and Amanda were so unsure of where to start, so it was really great to watch them grow throughout the entire process. They’ve built a beautiful practice, and I’m proud to have been able to help,” said Fletcher.
When you’re working towards a dream, some things seem to fall into place, and the right people show up at the right time. A year after opening, Scherr and Morgan look back at the process it took to build Valley Dog & Cat Hospital and love where they’ve ended up. “We love giving tours of the hospital and showing off what we’ve built. We’re very proud of it. We get so much positive feedback from our clients, and they love everything from our brightly colored lobby to the high-tech digital X-ray machine,” said Scherr. “Our Patterson team, especially Matt and Chris, was so helpful. We couldn’t have built this practice without that support.” PT
