In addition to the structural consideration, Reynolds was also designing a space that would give the doctors what they were looking for in a hospital. The doctors continually indicated that they wanted to be very mindful of their animal patients as well as their human clients, so choosing a layout that was going to be optimized for both was important. Scherr and Morgan were also very conscious of making sure the space was maximized for revenue generation. Reynolds’ extensive experience in veterinary hospital design meant that all the areas of focus for Scherr and Morgan were able to be addressed. After much consideration and debate, they found their ideal layout. “We went through a lot of layout options with Mike before we finally found the one that was just right,” said Scherr.


Finding a contractor was the next step for the team, and Fletcher knew it was going to be important to coach the doctors through the selection process. “I brought four contractors to the table to do bids off of the back of the design plans, but before the bids even started, I had a contractor that I know >>
