propane industry that encourages homeowners to dump their electric water heaters in favor of water heaters fueled by propane gas. Make no mistake – the intent of the campaign is simply to sell a lot more propane.

At PEC, we believe electricity is the smart energy choice. It is safe, reliable, clean, predictably priced and adaptable to many uses, from the exotic to the mundane. Electricity powers everything from cars, cell phones and laptop computers to air conditioners, dishwashers, refrigerators, clothes washers and lighting. More than ever, America runs on electricity.


Still, you might be tempted to switch water heaters. The campaign developed by the Propane Education and Research Council is slick.


PEC wants to provide you, our member-consumer, with the facts you need to make the best decision.

The Arbor Day Foundation has named PEC a 2016 Tree Line USA utility in honor of its commitment to proper tree pruning, planting and care inside its service area.


PEC is one of two electric cooperatives in the state to achieve the status and at 16 years, PEC carries the longest running Tree Line USA utility designation


for an Oklahoma cooperative.


Tree Line USA, a partnership between the Foundation and the National Association of State Foresters, recognizes public and private utilities for pursuing practices that protect and enhance America’s trees. Tree Line USA promotes the dual goals of delivering safe and reliable electricity while maintaining


healthy community forests.
