C

hoctaw Electric Cooperative (CEC) Chief Executive Officer Jon Miles submitted his resignation at the

CEC board meeting on February 23.

CEC board of trustees hired Miles in August to fill the vacancy left by the termination of Terry Matlock. Miles cited personal reasons for his decision, telling employees that he felt he had done as much as he could do at CEC.

Following Miles announcement, co-op trustees quickly appointed Joe Harris as interim general manager until a permanent CEO can be located.

Harris is familiar with CEC having served as interim CEO following the firing of Matlock.

CEC trustees are in the process of reviewing resumes and interviewing candidates for the CEO position.

The board is looking for a candidate with at least 15 years of management experience and a college degree in the field of business. Proven leadership skills, impeccable integrity and the ability to build consensus and trust among members and employees is critical.

Qualifications for the CEO position are posted here and online at www.choctawelectric.coop.
