HELP WANTED Sales Specialist VICE PRESIDENT OF FOUNDRY OPERATIONS
A. Y. McDonald Mfg. Co. is a family owned and operated manufacturer with captive brass foundry operations in the United States and Canada. The Company produces water works valves and fittings, high-pressure gas valves, and residential and commercial water pumping systems. A.Y. McDonald Mfg. Co. is currently looking for a Vice President of Foundry Operations to join the executive leadership team at the corporate offices and foundry in Dubuque, Iowa. This is an opportunity for an individual to join a company with long-standing foundry operations that continues to experience significant growth.
As part of the corporate management team, the Vice President of Foundry Operations will be responsible for the following:
• Providing strategic leadership and expertise to the foundry operations.
• Directing all foundry operations; including core making, molding, melting, pouring, process- ing, cleaning, inspection and sand quality to ensure maximum effectiveness.
• Establish manufacturing plans, goals, and future production innovations for the Foundry. • Promote continual improvement utilizing Lean Manufacturing and related processes. • Drive foundry process strategies to execute company goals. • Oversee manpower utilization in the Foundry.
• Implement technological improvements and automation practices within the foundry to improve efficiency, throughput, and resource utilization.
• Develop plans and processes which focus on minimizing manufacturing costs through effec- tive utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.
• Promote efforts to continually improve product quality, workplace safety, employee training, production capacity, staffing and operating efficiency.
• Develop and manage the Foundry budget. • Reporting to the President & CEO.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical or Mechanical Engineering. • Minimum of 10 - 15 years of foundry management experience. • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work with entire Executive Team in a positive and effective manner.
• Strong knowledge in foundry processes, including foundry automation, molding, melting, pouring, coremaking, sand quality, cleaning and finishing.

This position will make direct sales calls on current and potential customers, assess their business needs and deliver custom- ized AFS solutions to enhance business performance. This positon will become a relied upon resource for both AFS staff and metalcasters, as an important pair of eyes and ears out in the industry.
