Merlin confirms new UK hotel

plans Two British parks operated by Merlin Entertainments will be opening new hotels next year. At Legoland Windsor near London, a castle-themed hotel will open, similar in concept to the existing Legoland Burgen property at Legoland Deutschland in Bavaria, where families can choose to stay in a Dragon, King or Knight's wing. The existing and very popular Legoland Hotel at the park in Windsor, which opened in 2012, went on to set the template for further Lego-themed properties at Legoland parks in California, Florida and Malaysia. Meanwhile at Alton Towers Resort, a new

fully-themed hotel is set to arrive in the shape of the Cbeebies Land Hotel, designed exclusively for young families and pre-schoolers. Bursting with music, stories and adventures, the colourful world of Cbeebies (the BBC's pre-school TV brand) will be brought to life with unrivalled family entertainment, perfectly complementing the park's CBeebies Land, all day every day. The Staffordshire resort already features the Alton Towers Hotel, Splash Landings Hotel, Enchanted Village lodges and a number of luxury treehouses.

New at Drievliet Hicks Himmelsstürmer

Jora Vision recently finished the theming of two brand new attractions at Drievliet family park near The Hague (Den Haag) in the Netherlands. A Zierer Family Freefall Tower named Chute (above right) and Time Machine, a Magic Bikes from Zamperla (abover left), have been completed in a whimsical style reminiscent of an old World's Fair invention. This is not the first time Jora Vision, located just 25km from Drievliet, has worked with the park as it previously re themed a number of rides including its monorail and haunted house in the same area.

Big new ride for 2017 at

Walt Disney World waterpark Florida's Typhoon Lagoon waterpark is adding a new family-friendly attraction called Miss Fortune Falls, set to open in spring 2017. With a ride time of two minutes, it will be among the lengthiest at either of Walt Disney World's two waterparks. The themed attraction brings to life the story of the fictitious Captain Mary Oceaneer, a treasure-hunting heroine who got stranded at Typhoon Lagoon by a rogue storm. Once aboard rafts awaiting them at the ride’s entry point, guests embark on a journey through Captain Oceaneer’s past before plunging into a white water adventure where they can see unique artefacts.
