Gargoyles is a CGI mini movie/game that plays out on Samsung Gear headsets, offering coaster riders a futuristic VR battle between good and evil in preference to the real action that they would once have seen before them. The gaming element does not require a touchpad or buttons. Instead, the guns on the helicopters are controlled through head movements. As soon as an attacker is targeted, the weapon automatically fires. Target tracking graphics will demonstrate the autofire function. Rage of the Gargoyles is set to debut on eight rollercoasters across the Six Flags
portfolio, replacing the former Superman and New Revolution VR content. The rides/parks in question are Demon at Six Flags Great America near Chicago, Skull Mountain at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey, Shock Wave at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, Kong at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom near San Francisco, Dare Devil Dive at Six Flags Over Georgia outside Atlanta, Goliath at La Ronde in Montreal, Ninja at Six Flags St Louis in Missouri and Steamin’ Demon at The Great Escape in Lake George, New York.

Kings Island Construction is underway on a new wooden rollercoaster callled Mystic Timbers at Kings Island in Ohio. Custom designed by Great Coasters Interational for the topography of the park near Cincinatti, it will be themed to an area surrounding a lumber company becoming overrun by a vine as nature reclaims its land.
In total, the ride will be 3,265ft (995m) in length, reach 109ft (33m) at its heighest point and weave along steep cliffs, down ravines, cross over water and go through an extreme S-turn, among a forest of trees, reaching speeds up to 53mph (85km/h). The ride will feature a total of 16 airtime hills, a mid-course tunnel and interact with parts of the Kings Island & Miami Valley Railroad and White Water Canyon. The experience will last more than two minutes. Set to open in the spring, Mystic Timbers will become Kings Island’s 16th rollercoaster and its fourth wooden. It will also give the park some great braggng rights: with a combined 18,804ft (5.7km) feet of coaster track, it will have more than any amusement or theme park in the world.

dong at Quassy! Quassy Amusement & Waterpark in, has installed what the park has coined as the “Fun Bell” near ithe main entrance to the lakeside property in Middlebury, Connecticut. As guests depart, they may ring the bell if they “had a great day.” A nice touch, and one that may well just give an added lift to park management and staff as they (hopefully) hear the bell ring aplenty this summer.
