T

he Institute of Refrigeration has confi rmed that its next Industry Skills Alliance event will take place in London on Thursday 24 September 2026, bringing together employers, educators, professional bodies and industry partners to continue collaborative work on the sector’s skills and talent challenges. The event will include lunch and dedicated networking time. According to the IOR, the programme is being developed to refl ect the priorities and emerging needs of the RACHP workforce, with organisers inviting input from across the sector. Those interested in contributing, whether through speaking, sharing best practice or showcasing initiatives, are encouraged to get in touch.

Attendees will hear an update on the

progress of the Industry Skills Alliance, including achievements to date, engagement activity and future plans. Sector groups will outline the

actions they have identifi ed and the steps being taken to deliver meaningful change. The day will also provide opportunities for employers, education partners and stakeholders to connect, collaborate and explore ways to strengthen workforce pathways. The IOR is encouraging organisations to

share the invitation widely to help broaden participation and build a stronger collective voice for skills and talent. Registration is now open.

In addition, the IOR is launching an Industry Skills Alliance WhatsApp community to support ongoing collaboration between meetings. The group will off er a quick and accessible space for members to share updates, opportunities, best practice, careers activity and information on skills initiatives. Supporters can join by scanning the QR code provided in the event materials. The IOR says the vision of the Alliance is to

unite the sector behind a shared approach to skills development, creating clearer routes into the industry and supporting the future workforce. Matt Harvey, Education Outreach Manager at the Institute of Refrigeration, said he looks forward to welcoming attendees to what promises to be another engaging and impactful event.
