BREng Apprentice Programme – BREng

he Training Initiative of the Year award went to the BREng Apprentice Programme at BREng Hull, recognised for its practical, futurefocused approach

to developing the multidisciplinary HVAC engineers the UK now urgently needs. The programme selects apprentices for potential and places them in real working environments from the outset, giving them responsibility for live commercial projects and encouraging wholesystem thinking. This early exposure builds confi dence, technical competence and an understanding of how design, installation and maintenance interact in lowcarbon applications. BREng’s model is producing engineers equipped not only with skills, but with the judgement required for a rapidly evolving sector.
