COVER STORY
"Our Technical Drawing Offi ce uses the latest CAD Solidworks software, meaning we not only manufacture using the highest standard
As standard, our coils are manufactured from the highest quality plain aluminium fi n stock to ensure that we get maximum secondary surface, resulting in improved performance. The plain aluminium fi n stock is the most economical fi n material we off er and tends to be used on around 50% of the coils we manufacture. It works well with heat transfer from the pipe to the extent of the fi n block and has been used in refrigeration for well over a century. Aside from our plain aluminium material, Beehive can
also produce coils using copper fi ns and can off er several diff erent standard pre-coated fi nishes to suit a variety of requirements (including nano tech and hydrophilic coated fi n stock). We also off er a range of specialist protective coatings once the coil is manufactured, such as powder coating, Blygold corrosion protection or a high-performance Heresite coating.
Copper and Aluminium are our most used materials here at Beehive. Both can be infi nitely recycled without losing the superior properties of the virgin metals. Our main suppliers are using increasingly recycled metals in their factories, with one preferred supplier already using 100% recycled copper right now. Giving a 99.95%+ purity of the highest grade at a third of the carbon footprint. This 100% recycled copper can be specifi cally requested for your project at the time of placing an order with us. All our products can be recycled once they have served their purpose, and if looked after, they will last for many years. This ‘circular recycling’ helps to keep these metals in use again and again.

options we off er, which means that we can assist with the simplest replacement coils right up to specialised design briefs which require us to come up with unique, inventive and resourceful solutions whilst still keeping economy in mind. Our Technical Drawing Offi ce uses the latest CAD Solidworks software, meaning we not only manufacture using the highest standard drawings, but can model units in 3D or send copies to you so that you can be totally happy with every aspect of design before we build a thing. We have also recently invested heavily in expanding our capabilities, by acquiring new state of the art large sheet metal press machinery. There is an ongoing schedule for more additions this year, futureproofi ng our production lines. A Fastrack production line is available to help get bespoke, small quantity requirements drawn up and manufactured in much lower lead times than standard. There are normally several options available, depending on coil type/quantity, and it is dependent on available Fastrack production slots. We also off er a refurbishment service, as there are many advantages to consider when comparing refurbishment to replacement in most cases, such as a reduced carbon footprint, possibility to improve design, lower cost, faster turnaround, reduced equipment downtime and minimal disruption. All of our units are manufactured to the current PED standards and are supplied with a comprehensive warranty; we also hold the latest ISO 9001:2015 accreditation, enhancing the quality of our service as well as our products. If you need a non-standard item, don’t be forced to buy an
off -the-shelf ‘closet’ alternative, speak to Beehive instead and let us design a bespoke unit to your specifi cations.
