212 An Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) will be appointed by EAOL. Their overall responsibility will be for ensuring that the planning conditions and the conditions of any licence granted are adhered to. It would be the duty of the Ecological Clerk of Works to monitor the implementation of the Ecological Management Plan and any relevant sections of the Landscaping Management Scheme.

The project EMP will include the measures to be adopted to communicate awareness of sensitive landscape features and ecological receptors to the project team and the procedures to be adopted in the event of an unanticipated encounter.


14 Archaeology and Cultural Heritage


214 A Written Scheme of Investigation (WSI) will be submitted by EAOL to the County Archaeologist in accordance with DCO Requirement 25. This document will not form part of the Code of Construction Practice, but a brief summary of their function and proposed content is given below. The WSI will identify any pre-, during and post- construction phase mitigation required in order to minimise impacts on buried archaeology. Any archaeological works or watching brief carried out under the scheme must be by a suitably qualified person or body.

15 Monitoring and Site Inspections


216 A monitoring programme will be established for environmental aspects associated with the project site, which will be documented in the construction EMP. The EAOL EMS and associated audit programme includes a requirement for EAOL or an experienced nominated delegate to audit EAOL construction sites on a periodic basis; included in the audit scope will be the appointed Contractor‟s monitoring and inspection regime.


217 As part of ongoing monitoring, EAOL will commit to data sharing and with statutory consultees where this is relevant (e.g. the results of coastal erosion monitoring).
