Publication of the SoCC and supporting documents represents the commencement of consultation under Section 47. This consultation will continue throughout the development of the project; however we request that comments are provided on the information provided in this document by 31st October 2013.

As well as local community consultation, East Anglia THREE Limited will also consult with statutory consultees. This consultation forms a separate exercise; the requirements of which are detailed in Section 42 of the Planning Act 2008. Information on this consultation is outside the scope of this document.
1.2 The Applicant 9.
East Anglia THREE Offshore Windfarm (East Anglia THREE) is being proposed by East Anglia THREE Limited, a subsidiary of East Anglia Offshore Wind Limited (EAOW) which is a joint venture owned 50:50 by ScottishPower Renewables UK Limited (SPR) and Vattenfall Wind Power Ltd (VWPL).

ScottishPower Renewables is part of Iberdrola, the world’s largest wind energy developer, with an operating portfolio of over 14,000 megawatts (MW). ScottishPower Renewables is responsible for progressing Iberdrola’s onshore wind and marine energy projects in the UK and Ireland, and offshore windfarms throughout the world, managing the development, construction and operation of all projects. Securing its position at the forefront of the renewable energy industry, ScottishPower Renewables became the first UK developer to reach an installed generating capacity of 1,000MW in 2011, in addition to being awarded a second Queen’s Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development. With a pipeline including 10,000MW of offshore wind, and the 10MW world-first tidal energy array in the Sound of Islay, ScottishPower Renewables is firmly committed to the responsible development of renewable energy. Vattenfall is a leading European energy company, Europe’s sixth largest generator of electricity and the continent’s largest producer of heat. Vattenfall currently operates 545MW of onshore wind capacity and 836MW of offshore wind capacity across northern Europe, including the UK’s Thanet Offshore Wind Farm.
1.3 East Anglia THREE Offshore Windfarm 11.
In January 2010, The Crown Estate awarded EAOW the rights to explore the potential development of approximately 7,200 MW of wind capacity within an area of sea off the coast of East Anglia known as Zone 5, subsequently renamed by EAOW as the East Anglia Zone. The zone was awarded to ScottishPower Renewables and Vattenfall through The Crown Estate’s Round 3 offshore windfarm licensing programme.
