4.4 Identifying Potential Impacts 51.


At this stage of the project, we have identified the following potential impacts which may result from the proposed development:


4.4.1 Offshore Temporary impacts during offshore construction on marine mammals, fish and birds (e.g. disturbance from vessel traffic and underwater noise);


Impacts of the offshore turbines on birds during operation (e.g. displacement or collision impacts);


Impacts upon seabed ecology (e.g. due to the presence of turbine foundations and cables);


Local disturbance to sea users during construction offshore; and


Long-term changes due to the presence of offshore turbines potentially affecting shipping, oil and gas, fishing, radar and aviation and recreational users.


4.4.2 Onshore Impacts on people’s views associated with converter station development near Bramford;


Temporary impacts on local households, including increased traffic and noise, during construction onshore;


Temporary impacts on wildlife and birds during onshore construction;


Temporary impacts on landscape (hedgerows/trees) during onshore construction.
