Open and meaningful – consultation records and outcomes will be provided via the Consultation Report; feedback on specific issues will be provided on an ongoing basis as appropriate;


Proactive - local communities will be positively encouraged to become involved in the consultation process. This will be facilitated through use of appropriate consultation methods; and


Clear and proportionate – East Anglia THREE Limited appreciates that with East Anglia ONE already submitted and East Anglia FOUR being developed in parallel with East Anglia THREE there is potential for confusion and for stakeholder fatigue. East Anglia THREE Limited will ensure that consultation is clear with regard to which project is covered and that duplication is avoided where possible.


4.2 SoCC Agreement and Publication 41.


The content of the SoCC has been discussed with the relevant local authorities, including Suffolk County Council, Suffolk Coastal District Council, Mid Suffolk District Council, Babergh District Council and the MMO. The SoCC has been finalised and published formally, and is therefore a binding document which must be adhered to throughout the consultation process.

East Anglia THREE Limited published notification of the SoCC in the East Anglian Daily Times, the Eastern Daily Press, the Ipswich Star and Fishing News as a single public notice advertisement. The SoCC is available on the East Anglia THREE website, in local libraries and at PIDS; the dates and locations of which were included in the advert.


4.3 Identifying the Local Community 43.


In accordance with Section 47 of the Planning Act 2008, East Anglia THREE Limited is required to consult with people in the vicinity of the proposed development. The area within which onshore project infrastructure may be sited is shown as that within the red line boundary in Figure 2.

Two phases of statutory community consultation under Section 47 will be held, in autumn 2013 and summer 2014. For the purposes of this first phase, East Anglia THREE Limited requests that comments on the project and the consultation process from the local community are received by 31st October 2013. Public information events will be held during this consultation period as identified in Section 5.1 of this document.
