WTM Travel Innovation Summit
Held in the WTM Global Stage on Day One of WTM London, the WTM Travel Innovation Summit, organised in association with the Travel Technology Initiative and sponsored by Peakwork, heard from senior travel executives who have led innovative initiatives within their own businesses. From starting a new travel business to looking into the future of travel distribution and online search, the speakers provided delegates with vital insights into the industry. Moderated by Paul Richer, Senior Partner, Genesys – The Travel Technology Consultancy, the session was split into two sections. Firstly, Innovation in Business saw three speakers – Prakash Sikchi, Co-founder, Inspirock and Chris Carmichael, Innovation Lab Manager, TUI Destination Services, and Jeroen van Velzen, CEO, RoadMap – discuss existing innovation, what they’re doing and how they’re moving forward within their own businesses.
During the second half of the session, titled A Look at the Future, Annika Kessel, Managing Director, Peakwork UK, and Massimo Morin, Head of Business Development, Travel, Google, took a more forward-looking glance at the ways in which businesses can innovate.
