Day One: WTM Buyers’ Speed Networking
What better way to start WTM London than with a lively networking session with like-minded industry professionals? The WTM Buyers’ Speed Networking sessions are a revolutionary idea that provide exhibitors with the opportunity to meet relevant buyers and suppliers and discuss future business opportunities. Based in the WTM Global Stage Area, the event creates a unique forum for in excess of 1400 exhibitors and 300 senior buyers to meet, pitch products and talk about future opportunities. Exhibitors can gain an insight into buyers’ needs through the buyer listings enabling them to identify those to whom their products are most relevant. They then hold 5-minute speed sessions with their selected buyers. Buyers are sectioned and colour matched to the regions they most wish to buy from, showing how WTM London has fine- tuned the process to make sure the right members meet the right exhibitors. The first of two sessions, on Monday 2 November from 9-10am, enabled exhibitors to set the wheels in motion with prospective business partners. “We’ve had a fantastic start to WTM London 2015. The high number of buyers attending demonstrates all the key decision-makers in the industry attend the event and 207 buyers met with a host of exhibitors before WTM even opened its doors,” said Raj Thakkar, WTM Buyers’ Club Manager.
“It’s a great way to start the show. It’s surprising the number of great leads that you can get within half an hour on a Monday morning. My first contact has already made the hour worthwhile.”
David Thomas, Head of Travel and Events, SuperBreak Mini Holidays
“It’s exceptional. I made three really good contacts last year and subsequently now have put in over £200,000 worth of business just through doing the speed networking session.”
