New high range CO
exhaust gas analyser Bacharach have introduced the Monoxor XR (extended range) hand-held exhaust gas analyser for measuring CO (carbon monoxide) in ambient air or directly from the exhaust pipe of forklifts, fl oor burnishers or other equipment burning propane, gasoline, diesel, or CNG (compressed natural gas).
The Monoxor XR is the ideal instrument for verifying worker safety and achieving compliance with
OSHA air quality regulations. It can also be used for engine tuning and diagnostics, resulting in improvedequipment effi ciency and fuel savings. The Monoxor XR provides visual and audible alarming for instant alerting of personnel to dangerous CO levels. The expanded measuring range of 80,000 ppm allows technicians to test even the most poorly maintained equipment without risking damage to the gas sensor. Bacharach’s Combustion mobile app allowsthe user to quickly and easily create and send customizable emissions reports from their smartphones or tablets.
A specialised exhaust probe kit is available for direct connection tovarious exhaust pipe designs, and a magnetic rubber boot is availableto provide a non- slip, secure grip for hands-free testing. The Monoxor XR employs Bacharach’s B-Smart sensor technology forpre-calibrated sensor replacement in the fi eld - minimising downtime, maintenance costs, and overall cost of ownership.

to be added to Signal’s advanced range of Series 4 continuous gas analysers. The Aurora is a paramagnetic oxygen analyser for accurate percent measurements in incineration processes, inert atmospheres, medical and safety for humans, internal combustion engine exhausts and many more applications.
As a Series 4 instrument, the Aurora is supplied with software for remote access and control over the Internet, and with an optional touch-screen colour display, the AURORA is simple to operate on site. To ensure fl exibility, users are able to specify their required confi guration and programmable contact closures are available for gas path control.
Sample Gas Compressor Coolers
Offering long-term reliability the AURORA delivers outstanding performance - 0.1% resolution and 0.1% linearity.
Remote access to Series 4 analysers means that users can perform a number of key functions from the comfort of their own offi ce. This includes analyser set-up and confi guration, remote viewing of readings, the collection of logged data and remote troubleshooting; all of which saves the time and cost of site visits.

High-temperature oxygen transmitter achieves SIL 2 compliance for safe
Over ten percent of cases of lung cancer are linked to an excess of exposure to radon, according to a report from the World Health Organisation.
Radon (Rn) is present from a wide variety of natural and man-made sources. This odourless, colourless radioactive gas is the immediate decay product of radium resulting from the radioactive decay of uranium that takes place naturally in rock and soil. Hence all people are exposed to Rn in varying degrees.
Most Rn in indoor air comes from soil and is proving to be more of a hazard than levels of Rn in the drinking water supply. The level of Rn inside a building is largely determined by its location and whether the ground on which it is located has signifi cant levels of uranium present to create the gas. Once Rn reaches the open air, it will rapidly dissolve to a relatively harmless, low concentration. However, if it rises in to a home or commercial property, it can be trapped and build up to dangerous levels for people inside the building. The radioactive decay will then create alpha particles, which in turn can cause permanent damage to lung tissue.
To combat this danger, Euro-Gas have developed the Radon SS, a unique, high performance phototransistor gas sensor capable of detecting a fi eld range of 0-65,000Bq/m3 levels, with a standard range of 1750pCi/l Rn. This user-friendly technology can be easily integrated in portable and fi xed air quality and gas detection instruments and offers operators complete data for current and average Rn alpha particle concentration.

use in hazardous areas Servomex now offers SIL 2 safety compliance for the 2222H transmitter unit of its Servotough OxyExact 2200 oxygen gas analyser.
A high-precision oxygen analyser designed use in for hazardous area installations, the OxyExact utilises Servomex’s patent fi eld-proven, non-depleting paramagnetic sensing technology for a highly accurate, repeatable oxygen measurement.
Using an intelligent three-enclosure system to ensure safe operation, it measures enriched oxygen (up to 100% O2 ) in potentially fl ammable sample gases at pressures up to 45psia. This system dramatically reduces ongoing costs by removing the need for pre-sample drying.
Used in process control applications where high-temperature, high-performance oxygen measurements are required, the OxyExact is ideal for use in a range of hydrocarbon processing applications including production of ethylene oxide, propylene oxide, ethylene dichloride, and vinyl acetate monomer acid. The OxyExact 2000 is confi gured as a central control unit confi gured with up to six transmitters for easy device interaction and set-up.
The 2222H is now assessed as being SIL 2 compliant for use in safety instrumented systems in respect of hardware integrity only, according to IEC 61508 part 2:2010. This means the OxyExact is certifi ed for safe use in an even wider range of hazardous environments. The assessment covers 2222H units confi gured with or without the optional internal fl ow alarm feature.
2222H SIL 2 rating adds to the existing range of hazardous areas certifi cations covering the OxyExact, including ATEX, IECEx, FM and CSA compliance, and joins the OxyExact 2223 transmitter versions in being SIL 2 compliant.
