New well casing and total well depth indicator
New electromagnetic fl owmeters, even with small nominal diameters, provide precise readings in a minimal space
In sectors, such as water treatment: If conductive media such as cooling water is added to a process, magnetic-inductive fl ow meters are usually installed for monitoring purposes, particularly in the context of dosing where the measuring fl ow meters must perform within precise response times. These meters need to be easy to confi gure, otherwise incorrect dosing or insuffi cient repeatability will occur. Although there are already many accurate devices for small and medium fl ow rates in the market place, they are often limited in functionality or lack fl exibility at the instalation stage. KOBOLD Messring GmbH provides these features as standard with its fl ow meter duo, MIM and MIS. Due to the extensive options for on-site programming, they are suitable for cross-industry use, particularly for dosing applications. Confi gurable optical buttons can be used to display parameters such as fl ow rates or temperatures. A changing colour system in the display also warns of limit violations. Since the MIM model is the fi rst variant produced in a remote version, in which the display and electronics are not integrated in the sensor unit, the fl ow meter can also be used for media temperatures up to +140 ° C.

Solinst’s new Model 105 well casing and depth indicator detects metal well casing and measures total well depth using one probe. A strong magnetic assembly in the probe detects well casing, while a plunger assembly at the bottom of the probe is used to measure well depth.
The well casing and depth indicator is ideal for use during well construction, determining where metal casing starts and ends in existing well installations, and installing packers or other downhole instrumentation. Measurements are read from durable Solinst laser marked fl at tape, in standard lengths up to 6000 (2000 ft.) mounted on a sturdy reel.

Quality control is an essential aspect in any lab and its importance is growing constantly. All components of a measuring system, such as reagents and test kits, the actual measuring equipment and personal handling need to be monitored and checked on a regular basis in most labs. This is important to ensure accurate results and to fulfi ll validation and auditing requirements.
