First thermal imaging building inspection system
Thoroughbred oxygen analyser
The 3110 Portable Oxygen Analyser from Teledyne Analytical, who are represented in the UK by Process Analyser Systems, is not a mere workhorse analyser, it is a thoroughbred. It is intrinsically safe, ATEX and FM approved, with ranges from 0-10ppm to percent levels, 0-1V DC output and a long life, virtually maintenance free sensor which sets industry standards. As if that is not enough, there are a host of options for datalogging, sample systems, lower level range, sulphur resistant sensor and special fittings. The 3110 is rugged and lightweight with the carry case included; one analyser really can do it all.
For decades Teledyne has been an industry leader in design and manufacture of oxygen sensors and oxygen analysers. The 3110 is a descendant of the Model 310 Oxygen Analyser launched over 50 years ago, officially retired but with many, many working units still in the field.
The patented Teledyne micro-fuel cell can measure oxygen in hydrogen, nitrogen, argon, helium, acetylene, ethylene, carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons and many other gases. Micro-fuel cells are sealed devices with no electrolyte to change or electrodes to clean making them virtually maintenance free.
This analyser is easy to calibrate, with no span gas, no zero gas, just atmospheric air and an absolute zero all of which contribute to the user-friendly design. Its internal batteries have the capacity to operate the unit for 100 hours, so an overnight charge once a month is usually all that is needed.
For dirty gases, the 3110 has a side mounting sample system consisting of coalescing filter, needle valve, flowmeter, flexible tubing and ‘quick disconnect’ fittings are available.
FLIR Systems, Inc. have launched the FLIR MR277 building inspection system, FLIR Systems’ first moisture meter with Infrared Guided Measurement (IGM™) to offer Multi- Spectral Dynamic Imaging (MSX®) technology. This all-in-one, thermal-enabled moisture meter with hygrometer provides users with a full understanding of problem areas by enhancing IGM thermal images with visual details so they can quickly find moisture, air leaks, and insulation voids.
Designed for restoration, remediation, and building management professionals, the enhanced FLIR MR277 includes features needed to identify, diagnose, fix, and document moisture and building envelope problems. The FLIR Lepton® thermal imaging sensor powers IGM, visually guiding users straight to the source of building-related issues. Once a problem is located, the built-in pinless sensor enables quick, non-invasive moisture detection. Inspectors can then streamline diagnosis and documentation by using the built-in Bluetooth® to connect via METERLiNK® to mobile devices running the FLIR Tools® mobile app. This allows users to upload measurements and images from the job site to easily complete and share full reports with their customers.
The MR277 features a vibrant display screen that is 50 percent larger than previous FLIR moisture meter models, making it easier to identify problem areas visually and allowing users to view multiple parameters simultaneously, including humidity levels, dew point, and vapor pressure. A dual-camera system powers FLIR MSX, which adds visual details such as edges, writing, and patterns to full thermal images. The MR277 can display and record MSX, thermal, and visual images, with storage for up to 15,000 images in the internal memory.
The MR277 includes an MR02 removeable pin probe in addition to the built-in pinless sensor to allow users to verify the presence of moisture and take accurate, pin-based measurements with a single tool. The MR13 moisture hygrometer is also included; this humidity and temperature sensor measures relative humidity and is field-replaceable, thereby minimizing downtime to help keep professionals on-site to quickly complete the job.

New multifunction air contaminant detector and measuring device
MRU have recently launched a new detector unit with hot-plug sensor functionality, for gas leak detection, refrigerant detection, room climate measurements and carbon monoxide concentration in ambient air
With MRU’s 400GD modular multi-function detector and measuring device, there is now a system that can convert, within seconds, from a leak detector (flammable gases, refrigerant) to a device for measurements of temperature, ambient humidity, air pressure or the concentration of carbon monoxide in the ambient air (other measurements, such as H2 or CO2, are pending).
This is made possible by a hot plug and play sensor- switching- system, which was developed on the basis of automatic function recognition. There is only this one base unit that can be combined with a range of interchangeable sensors, to cover a broad range of applications while providing a compact, cost-effective solution.
The 1.8 “colour display is easy to read and, in addition to the measurement result (ppm,% and% LEL), simultaneously displays a graphic progression curve of the entire measurement. The compact housing size (W50xH135xD25mm) in fiberglass reinforced plastic ensures easy and robust
handling. A lithium-ion battery ensures a long, mains-independent operating time.
In the event of an alarm, this is visually displayed on the device and on the sensor by a flashing red LED, while the device also vibrates. The alarm threshold is user setable. At the touch of a button, the device generates a QR code with the measurement data for automatic transfer to the smartphone, with email delivery over MRU4u app (Android or IoS).
