TEAM FOCUS – Broadstone Under 8s
Every month, we focus on a different group and showcase them...
This is our fi rst season playing league games in a structured format and from my viewpoint it has been a massive success so far. Even though the league is non-competitive, the team has only lost two games all season, which is a great achievement.
In addition we have won games playing entertaining and attractive football, which we emphasise to the squad during training sessions. A lot of hard work is put in by the team; concentrating on good technique and playing passing football, which will benefi t the players in their later footballing careers.
Most importantly, the squad has a fantastic team spirit, they all play for each other and this really shows on the pitch. As a squad, we have great support from all the parents, but a big thank you to Spencer Newton who coordinates all the training and has been a big infl uence on developing the players.
As the season comes to a close, we now look forward to next year moving into 7-a-side games, which will bring new challenges – but I’m sure many successes.
