Broadstone Neighbourhood Watch
It’s that time of year again, Broadstone Neighbourhood Watch Annual General Meeting will be taking place on Thursday 18th May at 7.30pm at St John’s Church Hall.
We are delighted to be welcoming Bruce Murdoch from the Police Marine Branch as our speaker and we hope you will be able to join us and fi nd out more about this fascinating area of policing that is so relevant to where we live. You will also be able to fi nd out more about the activities of the Neighbourhood Watch throughout the last year and learn about our priorities for the year ahead.
Some of our members have recently been to see the new hoist we were able to fund for the swimming pool at The Junction to assist those with disabilities, and committee members have also been helping to promote Broadstone Community Speedwatch at their recent street stall.
Over the last couple of years, many of the streetlights in Broadstone have been upgraded to LED lamps, which are more effi cient, offer a more pure light and can be dimmed at midnight. During this change over, we have noticed that many of
the Neighbourhood Watch signs have gone missing. If yours has disappeared, please let me know. Poole Council will be replacing them for us over the coming months and we would like to give them the complete list.
Finally, there has been a spate of thefts from gardens, sheds and garages in the last few weeks. Tools, bikes and machinery have been the target of these thefts and burglaries as they are high value, portable items that are easy to sell. Please don’t fall victim – make sure you lock your items away and where possible have bikes and high value items marked, so they can be returned to you and check your home insurance to ensure that garages and sheds are fully covered.
Hope to see many of you at the AGM. Until then, stay safe.
