Broadstone Middle School, Age 9-13
Broadstone Middle School Ski Trip 2017 On 25th February, forty one daring children and six brave members of BMS staff set off on a very snowy adventure to the spectacular Italian Ski resort of Courmayeur, right at the foot of Mont Blanc and the idyllic French/Italian Alps. Their mission was simple; to push themselves past their comfort zones and learn a new sport. Over a course of six (very intense, challenging and immensely enjoyable) days, our bold learners learnt to ski, developed their skills on snow and explored the vast mountain alongside their dedicated and skilled Interski instructors. Staying at the nearby town of Morgex in a friendly family run hotel, each day started with a hearty Italian breakfast, before kitting up and heading on up to the mountain via a gondola. After boots, skis and helmets were on, the children were ready for six hours of ski lessons, broken up with games, authentic pizza lunches and warming hot chocolates. At the end of the afternoon, a quick rest and change of clothes were in order before the fun continued with a range of leisure activities including
bowling, swimming and bum boarding. Needless to say, after all that fun, the children slept very well!
BMS Staff were immensely proud of all the children who came along, being complimented constantly on our learners’ attitudes, behaviour and manners – they really showed Italy
just what BMS learners are made of: determination, resilience, fun and kindness. It was a magical and very successful trip and BMS has already started planning the next trip for 2019!

Broadstone First and Broadstone Middle School, part of The Castleman Academy Trust, have the following facilities available at competitive rates:
• A large hall, available at both sites, one of which has adjoining kitchen facilities
• Floodlit multi-use games area, with markings for netball and tennis
• A large sports fi eld, with markings for football and one pitch for Under 12s rugby
• Changing facilities • Parking
