The Lisle Park District Sea Lion Swim Team competes in the West Suburban Conference with teams from Downers Grove, Glen Ellyn, Hinsdale, Lemont, Wheaton, Clarendon Hills, and Western Springs. Swimmers are evaluated individually based on skill level and are divided into “A” and “B” Divisions.

The coaching staff will provide an atmosphere of sportsmanship and fun for both beginner and advanced swimmers. This program is primarily for children and young adults who have previously mastered swimming basics and are ready for a more competitive atmosphere. Those considering join- ing the Sea Lion Swim Team are strongly advised to have completed several swim lesson courses, as well as our Intro to Swim Team course. Although this is suggested, it is not required as long as participants meet the mini- mum swimming requirements listed below.

Swimming Requirements: Ages 8 & under: One length of pool (25 yards). Diving & flip turn experience – completing all levels of swim lessons is strongly encouraged, but not required.

Ages 9-18: Three lengths of pool (75 yards). A working knowledge of diving and flip turns, in addition to all strokes. Completing all levels of swim lessons is strongly encouraged, but not required.

Age Groups: 8 & under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-18. Participants will swim in their appropriate age group based on their age as of June 1.

Team Suits:

Team suits are not required, but are popular with the swimmers. Suit sam- ples will be available at the front desk of the Lisle Recreation Center starting April 1 for fitting purposes. If you would like to receive your order prior to the first dual meet, it is important that you register early and pick up the swim meet parent packet. Swim caps will be provided to all swimmers at no additional cost.
