www.foodlovermagazine.com Welcome FOODLOVERS

T is year’s fl ying by! We’re getting ever closer to summer…I’m looking forward to the warmer weather!

First of all, though, we have the excitement of plenty of seasonal food and

drink for March. It’s National Butchers’ Week from the 13th to the 19th, and we’re marking the occasion by celebrating the great local butchers we have here in the South West on page 8, with tips, recipes and profi les.

We love the diff erence that fresh herbs make to a dish, whether it’s a choice

cut from our local butcher, a fi llet of locally caught fi sh, a dip to serve with nibbles or something else. Turn to page 22 for great ways with fresh herbs.

Here in the South West we’re blessed with plenty of great farmers’ markets

– and it was in our region that the fi rst UK farmers’ market actually began! Turn to page 37 to fi nd out why they’re so important, with views from those who run markets, market traders and customers alike.

On page 42 we focus on the benefi ts of including good quality dairy in our

diets, while on page 47 we’re dreaming of holidays to Morocco with our guide to cooking tasty and authentic Moroccan food, with store cupboard staples and plenty of recipes for all skill levels.

Finally, on page 56 we look at new ways with tea and coff ee – if you’ve

never tried cold brew tea or serving boozy coff ee, we defi nitely recommend taking a look!
