had changed during his years as a cobbler: “When I started, everything was made of leather and rubber,” he told us. “Then manufacturers started using man-made materials, and the adhesives we use changed.” However, the main difference


is in people’s attitudes to the repair industry. “We live in a throw-away society,” he added, explaining that


more and more people tend to buy shoes and ‘wear them till they fall off’. Trevor stressed that before throwing


away a favourite pair of shoes, it is worth getting expert advice. ‘Almost anything can be repaired,” he said.
