A POPULAR Haverfordwest

business is celebrating 26 years of trading this year. Established in 1991, Clever

Cloggs has been heeling the soles of Pembrokeshire residents ever since. Owner Trevor Adams first entered

orthopaedic work, and can alter shoes to suit all needs, including building up soles to measure. A visit to Clever Cloggs in

Portfield quickly shows the range and quality of Trevor’s work. The walls are festooned with handmade belts, bracelets and other leather accessories, while behind the counter are racks of gleaming repaired shoes. His skills with leather mean that he can tackle most repairs – from saddlery to sofas – and he welcomes

a new challenge! Trevor’s repairs don’t just help

humans find their feet, either. He has previously made a set of shoes for an elderly tortoise which was wearing the skin off its feet. He has also made leather shoes for

service dogs to stop their feet getting burned when they have to work at the scene of fires. For the horse riding fraternity,

Trevor will make bridles to order, as well as repairing, cleaning and waterproofing tack and mending horse blankets. He supplies watch straps and
