It's Happening – Broadstone Family Fun Day is confirmed for Sunday 2nd July!
The Annual General Meeting of Broadstone Fields in Trust Association (BFiTa) took place on 6th February and the new committee confirmed that the 6th Annual Fun Day will take place on Sunday 2nd July, from 12noon.
Some stall holders and performers have already booked their places and we are looking for new, innovative acts for the arena as well as local community groups, schools, churches, and local companies who would like to have a stall.
In particular, we would like to hear from anyone with a connection to steam engines, tanks or vintage vehicles.
The event is run by a very small group of volunteers, all of whom give countless hours to plan the event, and spend the whole day itself running around attached to a walkie-talkie – so we are keen to recruit a few extra volunteers, both pre and on the day. With more volunteers, each of us will have less to do and this helps to make the event more sustainable into the future.
We will also be seeking a headline sponsor for the event, as well as other sponsors for different areas of the event and advertisers for our programme. Please do get in touch early to reserve the premium sponsor packages.
BFiTa exists to protect, promote and improve the recreation grounds at Plainfields Farm and Charborough Road and the events help to fund our long term plans to upgrade facilities. Our development sub-committee hopes to work with Broadstone Football Club, Cricket Club, Bowls Club, Broadstone Scout Group, Friends of Broadstone Nature Reserve and Broadstone Neighbourhood Forum and other interested stakeholders to create a long term plan. If you have experience in writing funding bids, leisure management or just have an interest in helping, please get in touch.
