Pat Focuses on the faces behind our Local Businesses Judith Szakaly - Quesada Housesitters
Originally from Hungary, Judith was born and brought up in a small town near the Austrian border with wonderful views like the opening scenes of the film The Sound of Music. Her parents, sister and brother still live there. Judith then lived in various countries before settling in Spain 10 years ago.
She graduated in Budapest where you study and work at the same time to get your 5 year qualifications, so before moving on she stayed an extra 3 years after her graduation in Budapest working with disabled children and adults who had suffered strokes, had Parkinson's or cerebral palsy.
From there she went on to Italy, Switzerland, Belfast in Northern Ireland, Dublin and Leeds over a period of 14 years before moving to Spain.
She was in demand with her qualifications and work ethics and was often recommended to help people of all ages, who most others would have given up on. She is particularly proud of a man she helped after he'd had a car accident. He couldn't move at all and after working with him for 8 hours every day he can now walk, drive and he also now has a family.
She now lives in Quesada with her daughter Esther, where she spends the whole summer working non-stop and looks forward to some relaxing time in the winter when she goes to the gym, eats out and travels.
Her business is going from strength to strength after starting it 5 years ago, by mistake! She was working in an office at the time when someone came in and asked if she knew anyone who would look after their house when they weren't there. Straight away she said I will, and that's how she started.
She left her job and built up clients as she went along, and she now employs cleaners, pool cleaners, gardeners, handymen, electricians and plumbers who are all certified and fully registered.
The company has expanded over the years and not only do they do cleaning and changeovers, but they now offer interior and exterior designs, refurbishments, legal paperwork including residencias, driving licences, in fact they will do just about anything you might need! Judith feels she is here to help people and is very proud of all she has achieved.
