MILTON Keynes turns 50 and the city is planning a programme of events to mark its evolution into a great place to live, visit and work. Joining in the celebrations and illustrating just how good the city can be for business will be the recently merged agency Cygnus. In 2017, the agency celebrates the union it announced in October between two local creative forces; integrated agency Cygnus Associates and design agency White Leopard. These respected brands came together to form one of the best creative agencies in the city, producing award-winning work for clients such as SEAT, Volkswagen Group, BP, Papa Johns, Scania, Open University, Mercedes-Benz, UCC Coffee, Transport Systems Catapult and The Parks Trust. “We are incredibly excited,” says Cygnus managing director Marc Brown. “The merger represents a new creative frontier for us personally as well as an opportunity to help put Milton Keynes on the map as a vibrant and thriving centre of commerce. We want to be as involved as much as possible.”
The conjoined agency was one of the first local businesses to sign up for sponsoring the Herd About MK initiative, in which 50 commemorative concrete cows are being produced to celebrate the city’s landmark anniversary. Cygnus’s widened pool of creative talent will be using its artistry skills to decorate one of the 50 concrete cows being paraded at key sites throughout the city during 2017. Cygnus will be really ‘hooves-on’ with this brilliant project... In addition to decorating a
cow, it has also been retained by the not-for- profit organisation behind Herd About MK to promote the project within the region and raise as much money as possible for local charities. Cygnus’ executive creative director Martin Carmody says: “It is fantastic to be involved in this project. The concrete cows have symbolised Milton Keynes for decades and we are looking forward to spreading the word about the city’s success and creating some work for the local community. “This will be one of the first Milton Keynes
projects that we have won as the newly formed agency Cygnus and we are delighted that Herd About MK recognised our creative talents and entrusted its campaign into our care.” The merged agency will trade under the long-established Cygnus brand and will bring together a dream team of talented graphic designers, artworkers, account handlers and digital gurus. It will be seeking new business as well as developing key accounts. “Between the two agencies, we have demonstrable knowledge of key sectors like education, automotive, healthcare, and food and drink, and have worked both locally and nationally,” says Marc. “We also offer solid credentials in that we are both Design Week Top 100 agencies and RAR Top 100 agencies, with a number creative of awards to our names.
“Our aspiration is to be the go-to creative agency for marketers in Milton Keynes... so watch this space.”
