Vanarama: a client that understands the importance of brand

Vanarama began in 2013, when we carried out a complete strategic rebranding exercise for the group, which had grown from a used car dealership, based near Tring. The total brand redevelopment went across all channels to market and perfectly reflected the no-nonsense, straight-talking attitude of the business. The preferred solution from our branding concept presentation featured a ‘thumbs up’, not only synonymous with being ‘Sorted!’ but also a powerful visual shorthand for success that negates the need for language. Brand reach extended to design for printed


collateral, van livery, brand guidelines and website and by the end of 2013 the new brand logotype was featuring in TV commercials on Sky Sports and Dave, doubling website traffic instantly and cementing the business firmly in the minds of tradespeople nationally.


2017 is the year to move into a landmark HQ building in Hemel Hempstead, measuring 2,000 sq metres over two floors. Vanarama is making a long-term investment in architecture, planning and technology, ensuring high energy efficiency and appropriate use of green technologies. We’re responsible for every aspect of design and project management, ensuring delivery of an efficient and creative treatment that is consistent with the brand.

In 2014 we guided Vanarama through the


process of relocation, from initial search, inspections, building regulations and planning to interior design, project management and the design and implementation of external and internal signage. Vanarama now signed a deal that was to secure its household name status, sponsoring non-league football via The National League (formerly The Conference). It has recently announced an extension into a fourth year. In 2015 Vanarama’s partnership with The National League was nominated for a Football Business Award. The company also won a Lloyds National Business Award, the Sunday Times Best Small Companies to Work For In The UK and were placed 26th in the Times Top 100 list. involvement has contributed to some impressive statistics for Vanarama, who can boast a 440% rise in profit from £0.5 million (£10.7 million turnover) in 2013 to a projected £4.6 million (projected £30.3 million turnover) in 2016. In that same period vehicle deliveries have risen by 300% from 2,500 to a forecast 12,500 and staff head count has increased from 36 to 160, with 47% of their management being female.
