Fireworks Displays

WHAT’S NOT MY LINE

COMPETITION The ‘What’s Not My Line’ competition has been a traditional Carnival event for many years. The competition is an excellent opportunity to window-shop, as well as giving you the chance of winning a CASH prize. And it couldn’t be simpler - all you need to do is find the object in each participating shop’s window that is not for sale, because it does not belong in its normal range of merchandise. Many of Swanage’s shopkeepers take pride in becoming more cunning each year, so, keep your eyes peeled…

Prizes of £10 and £5 will be awarded to the winners. In the event of a tie, a draw will be made. Please refrain from entering the shops to ask the staff. Forms available from: The Carnival Information Caravan and Tourist Information situated in Shore Road at a cost of £1.00 per form. Completed forms should be handed

back in to The Carnival Information Caravan or Tourist Information Centre by 12 noon on Saturday 6th August. Return your form even if you can’t find all the items as you may still be in with a chance!

CARNIVAL 2016 THANKS SUPPORTER ipconsult

30th July – 6th August 2016

Saturday 30th July, Wednesday 3rd July and Saturday 6th August at approximately 9.45pm – Seafront

These stunning Fireworks Spectaculars are always highlights of three evenings of Carnival week; the first Saturday, Wednesday and last Saturday. This year’s fireworks displays will again be provided by

Pains Fireworks Ltd. Their leading pyrotechnics team provide displays that never fail to awe and amaze the crowds of gasping onlookers, whose “oohs” and “aahs” echo around the bay. Each year’s display succeeds in outshining the previous one and this year will be no exception!

One of the most famous names in British fireworks, Pains has a history going back to Guy Fawkes himself (over 400 years). Its hectic schedule of major displays is now spread throughout the year, not just around Fireworks Night! www.painsfireworks.co.uk

The display will be fired from the jetty in the centre of the bay,

so make your way to the many vantage points around the bay, the Seafront, Sandpit Field, Downs or near the Quay, and await a thrilling time!

DON’T FORGET We would like to thank our sponsors for all the support but our cost is never covered, a £1 in the buckets will certainly help, so remember to look out for our collectors! Our volunteers will be among the crowd collecting for the benefiting charities.

CARNIVAL 2016 THANKS SUPPORTER La Trattoria, Curiosity, Fortes Ice Cream, Swanage Coastal Park, Harrow House, Swanage Town Council and all of the other stores, hoteliers and businesses who help to fund these spectacular occasions

Carnival Market Day, now in it’s fourth year, showcases the skills, trades and delights of Dorset and surrounding counties celebrating the wealth of local skills, arts and crafts. You will see an array of our home-grown talent demonstrating their trades and selling their products and produce, and an opportunity to try your hand at some of the wonderful local skills. Woodsmen, artists, bakers, farmers, jewellery and stick makers, alongside live entertainment playing live music promise a wonderful day for all ages. The Carnival Marquee will be transformed into the arts and crafts hub for the day with the popular ‘paint a pebble’ running throughout the event for any budding young artists - make sure you don’t miss out!
