Swanage Regatta & Carnival 30th July – 6th August 2016 Welcome to…

SWANAGE CARNIVAL PROCESSION SUNDAY

S

oaps and Sit Coms is our 2016 Carnival theme. Having a good laugh, chilling out and generally having a great time - that’s Carnival! Before the Procession begins, the

entertainment starts with a parade of Beach Buggies, Motorbikes, Vintage Cars and a Comedy Carnival Band. Then it’s the main event! Procession Sun-

day showcases the biggest and best traditional Carnival on the South Coast.

Following a

2.5 mile route winding along the seafront and through the town centre, with thousands of spectators lining the pavements along the way, there are seven bands performing a great mix of drums and pipes, traditional marching mel- odies, rock and samba. Two of the

country’s most famous

masquerade bands, M2K and Rampage, will be performing their vibrant, colourful dance & music spectaculars and showing off their magnificent costumes. Between the bands there are cleverly creat-

ed floats, decorated vehicles, bicycles, prams, carts and costumed walkers making this Carni- val a ‘Must See’ event. And theres more!… On the Carnival

Showground, overlooking the magnificent bay, there is great entertainment - sideshows and amusements, a variety of food outlets and the ‘Carnival Arms’ bar in the marquee. There is also a ‘Pimm’s & Prosecco Bar’ where you can enjoy a refreshing drink. There is something for everyone at this fantastic show.
