We’ve featured Direct Owner on these pages before and I’ve been lucky enough to discuss the real estate market challenges with owner - Elena Theanne - on several occasions. I met with her in December and talked about her business and the ‘interesting’ 2016 we’ve just had.
Direct Owner’s advert headline is ‘Deliberately Boutique’. I asked Elena how this was working out. “I chose a more personal approach deliberately. It’s hard to stand out and from my own experience, I know how much I value the personal touch, especially on such an important purchase. We moved on to discussing last year: “Of course, Brexit dominated the news. I was as surprised about the result as most people I meet. For sure it caused some uncertainty and the exchange rate adjustment was an issue. But we’re seeing a relatively buoyant market
and like others, we’ve enjoyed a good end to the year!”. In fact Kyero have reported that sales in the Alicante Province are up 7% year on year in the British buying sector. I asked Elena if now was a good time to sell, “Selling is about the obvious and the not so obvious. Realising your capital with a good selling price is important, but you won’t believe the number of sellers who simply spend years literally waiting to get on with their lives by not accepting a realistic offer. We’re in the business of selling houses and we do that by offering honest, professional and realistic advice, all with the personal boutique approach I mentioned earlier”.
It really made me think and realise that by being deliberately boutique, Elena really is on to something.
