deVere wins Prestigious Award And why it’s good news for you

Firstly, I’d like to wish you a happy – and of course – prosperous New Year.

Getting good financial advice is the first step to getting your financial affairs in order, and choosing the right financial adviser is paramount. In an expat community, it’s important to choose an adviser who works for an internationally recognised and regulated company. Why? Simply because they have access to up to date, relevant information, and moreover, are required to stay on top. They recognise that serving the client is the only way to be successful. One such company is deVere.

In December, deVere received the prestigious European award, for its team in Spain, which is only awarded to companies that exhibit excellence in the financial services. This makes choosing the right company the easy step. The next easy step is to pick up the phone and make contact, but more on that later.

As a Wealth Manager, I often get asked when is the best time to transfer your UK pension in order to maximise its value, both now and in the future. Let’s start by saying that I, nor any other financial adviser can predict the future. What I do know is that when interest rates are low, transfer values are higher and right now interest rates are very low. Point in case, Mrs Smith (not her real name) had been putting off her transfer valuation and was delighted to find out it had increased by £15300. And all it took was a phone call. Act now as expectation is that interest rates world wide will rise in the next three months.

Which brings us neatly back to step 2, the next easy step. Simple, pick up the phone and call me. Think of it as a New Year’s resolution to set your finances up for your more comfortable future. My number is 610 822 484, or just email me steve.iball@devere-spain.es and I’ll get back to you. We’ll have a no-obligation chat and then you can decide whether you go to the next step. I look forward to hearing from you.

Finally, I get asked a lot about Brexit, most people want a magic answer – there is none. What we can do is stay informed and up to date. Just recently I joined the panel of BREXPATS IN SPAIN (look it up on Facebook), as their economist. Our stated aim is to “understand the issues that could affect our position as British expats here in Spain”. We do that by “gathering and imparting relevant information and changes in legislation”. I’m honoured to be on the panel and to have the opportunity to help as many people as possible, more to follow in the next three months.
