www.female-focus.com Weathering the Pain of Arthritis

Yes, it is true that the weather can affect your health. Too hot, too cold, your aches and pains can feel the difference. Barometric pressure, a term that is used to describe the weight of the surrounding air, can affect how well a person’s body performs. Research has shown when there is a drop of more than 8 to 10 degrees in temperature, or a significant increase in barometric pressure, it can trigger joint pain. No one is sure exactly why this happens.

This explains why people who have intermittent

pain, can experience

a more painful knee or aching shoulders, for example when the weather suddenly drops from mild, warm air to much colder air. If you add rain to this situation, the moisture in the air is likely to cause more irritation, because the air pressure increases further, affecting the

pressure on the inside of joints. So, in effect, cold, damp weather is a contributor to your body’s imbalance.

Treatment for Osteoarthritis At his Chiropractic Clinic in Benijofar, Dr Hans C. Madsen DC treats many people who have developed arthritis in their joints. With over 23 years’ experience using Shockwave; he is able to target the calcifications that build up around the affected joints. Shockwave therapy gradually removes this calcification which helps to release trapped nerves resulting in more movement and less pain. Patients are then treated with laser therapy, which helps to regenerate new cell growth.

Laser Therapy Dr Madsen has developed his own unique laser systems, using very specific and varying levels of light energy to treat a wider range of injuries. The tissues and cells absorb this energy, thereby accelerating the normal rate of healing and reducing inflammation. It promotes an increased blood flow to injured areas and brings vital nutrients and fluids to discs and cartilage.

Chiropractic Care Dr Madsen DC, a graduate from Palmer College, the fountainhead of Chiropractic, has over 35 years’ experience. During a consultation visit, he offers the appropriate chiropractic treatment where possible, to free blocked areas and release trapped nerves, using chiropractic manipulation. He also has a Diploma in the Gonstead technique.
