the leap

THE JOURNEY My journey into running my own recruitment consultancy was mapped out from a young age. My career began when I secured a role in the accountancy field and studied towards the AAT, which gave me a good grounding for my next role as a recruitment specialist within a well-known finance recruitment consultancy. After five successful years in the financial recruitment field I felt it was time for the next step to an organisation that would utilise my recruitment expertise, but within a change of discipline. The decision to leave a role within an organisation that I knew inside out was a scary yet exciting step, a feeling that I am sure many candidates have felt throughout their individual job searches. I joined a nationwide HR recruitment agency where,


during my 14 years of service, I built on my experience and expertise, watched and contributed to the growth of the company. I also became a fellow member of the institute of recruitment professionals. I came to a point last year where I felt I had done all that I could do and I was ready for a change. I took some time out and did a lot of soul searching and soon realised that my true passion lay in attracting and supplying the very best talent and helping individuals through that process of change. After 20 successful years in the recruitment industry, why would I not want to utilise this experience? So I decided to do what I knew best and founded Baker Bright Recruitment Solutions.


FINDING THE POTENTIAL Many people will identify with the feeling of wishing the week away and living for the weekend, simply because they have forgotten about why they enjoy the job that they do. I feel we don't always reach our full potential in our job


roles because a variety of factors can lead to the passion and drive being lost. Change is something that can be so good for us but something that, without the right support and guidance, is hard to do. I have, during my career, been the candidate, the client


and the agency recruiter, so I understand both what the client requires and what the candidate is looking for. I can also empathise with what clients and candidates truly want from a recruitment consultancy. Baker Bright Recruitment Solutions’ aim is not to be a


team of sales professionals motivated by financial and sales targets, but experienced recruitment professionals who value candidates and clients and work in true partnership with them to achieve that end goal.

placements were made and the future started to look bright for the company. Baker Bright has recently celebrated its first anniversary and is going from strength- to-strength – so what has been the driving force of the company’s continuing success?
