The Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation (SIMD) provides one of the most detailed and targeted assessments of people in deprivation in Scotland, this defines deprivation along seven dimensions: • Employment • Income • Health • Education, skills and training • Crime • Geographic access to services • Housing
There are 120 data zones (small population units) in total across the East Renfrewshire area and of these there are 7 data zones that are amongst 15 per cent of the most deprived areas within Scotland.
