Across Scotland from 2001 to 2011, household sizes decreased by 3.5 per cent, and East Renfrewshire has seen a fall of 4.7 per cent. However it has to be noted, that East Renfrewshire continues to have the largest household size in Scotland.22


The number of single person households has increased by 4 per cent in East Renfrewshire to reach 30 per cent of all households (Scotland 35 per cent). All other household sizes have experienced either a reduction of 1 or 2 per cent over the past decade. This trend echoes that of Scotland as a whole. 23
