album.
Wow. I am so happy you got through all of that! Is your regular touring band playing on the album? Well, my band’s playing on several of the songs and Paul Hornsby’s playing on it, Tommy Talton’s playing on it quite a bit. Ran- dall Bramblett’s on some…
Talton is awesome, and a good friend. Then again so is Paul and Randall. Very cool. I had some great players on it, I tell ya.
No Doubt! Was our buddy Chris Hicks on it? No, he’s been on several of mine though. He’s on the road so much with Marshall Tucker, I haven’t seen him in a while, but usually, you know, I’ll always call him. He sang some duets with me on some of my CDs.
He’s good. Boy, I really like Chris’ vo- cals man… I really do. Very unique. Have you ever heard a song he cut with me called “Your Love Looks Good On Me?”
I have. It was on one of my earlier recordings.
Was it on Trouble? I think it was on… I believe it was on Trouble. That was the first album I ever got of yours. Oh, okay!
Yeah, and then I started digging back after that but yeah, that was great! And Chris had told me about you and of course, I kept hearing about you from everybody else before I even knew who you were. ‘Cause everybody was singing your praises, including Hornsby and Hicks - Tommy Talton had mentioned it
‘cause I talk to Tommy a good bit. Yeah, he’s sweet.
He’s a good ‘un. Oh yeah. He played on my last two or three al- bums.
Wow. And Paul and I produced an artist from Ohio, Lisa Biales from Oxford, Ohio, and we brought Tommy in to help us with that, too.
Man, that’s cool. You probably know Bill Stewart too.
Yeah! Bill Stewart from Cowboy… the drummer. He’s playing on a bunch of my stuff.
Yeah, I like all them Cowboy guys… All them Cowboys…(Laughs) Yeah.
Scott Boyer and all of ‘em, you know. And everybody associated with Capri- corn Records. It’s like I’ve been sort of obsessed with that since around 1973, and I collected everything I could get of all these different Capricorn recording artists. Ohhhh! Okay.
I want to start wrapping up here by ask- ing you what all you’ve got going on now and in the near future. Well, right now I’m going through this song- writing stage. I’ve been meeting up with Johnny Neel in Nashville and we’ve been writ- ing songs together.
Yeah. Love Johnny. You know him, doncha?
Yeah. When he first got with the Allman Brothers and then also I knew him from
