Leaving Gettysburg we took a


late lunch at a pretty nice Mexican restaurant before the long drive back to Falls Church, Virginia. It had been an historic day in more ways than one. We would head back to the house and hit the sack early. My Monday morning flight was at 6 am, which meant being at the gate by 5:30, which meant leaving Craig’s house at 4:30, which meant getting up at 3:30! What?? The alarm on my iPhone

bag and headed to the inspection station. I was pulling off a shoe when a nice officer informed me that I was “pre screened” and did not have to remove my shoes. Well, I was not pre screened, but I would take it. I limped through the metal detector with one shoe on and one off. On the other side, I slapped my shoe on and headed for the gate. I had plenty of time. I like that.


I was hungry. Strike that. I was starv-


ing. The first thing I came to was Dunkin’ Donuts. I don’t eat doughnuts, but thought they may have another choice. Ah, a toasted bagel with cream cheese. That would be great! I got into the line, which was short, only ten souls ahead of me. I ordered the bagel and a tall cup of coffee. The set up at the airport was weird. I ordered, stepped down to my left to
