track from the record, “Ain’t Who I Was.” This girl is beautiful, soulful, friendly and everything one could ask for in a performer. Like I said, I am a fan of hers now - a Ford Thurston fan too. The Paul Thorn Band hit the stage and

as usual, brought down the house. Having seen Paul with the band and solo about 27 times now, it just gets better, and I never get tired of the show. He changes it up and adds new songs, and often digs back in the catalog for a classic. Tonight Paul rocked through “Some-

thing Out There;” “I Don’t Like Half the Folks I Love;” “It’s All About People;” “What Kind of Roof Do You Live Under;” “Pimps & Preachers;” “Love Scar” (a personal favorite); “Double Wide Paradise;” “Sure Sign That She’s Gone;” “Old Stray Dogs and Jesus;” “Don’t Let Nobody Rob You of Your Joy;” “Mediocrity is King;” Ray Wylie Hubbard’s classic “Snake Farm;” the beautiful “If I can get Over Her;” “It Don’t Feel Like Saturday Night;” and then he brought Bonnie out to duet on “Lovers Vacation.” Very cool; “Weeds in My Roses;” and “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright;” The encore, “Get Yourself a Heal- ing,” found Thorn walking through the audi- ence shooting video of different patrons, dancing with some, posing cheek to cheek

band. Guitarist Bill Hinds is amazing. For some reason on this night, I kept seeing him as a short-haired Warren Haynes. He seems to have many of the same mannerisms as Haynes, espe- cially when ripping it up on slide guitar. He has that look;

Jeffrey Perkins has always been a favorite of mine, one always in the pocket drummer, and a helluva nice guy. The Paul Thorn Band are not only superior musicians, they are all like Paul, easy going and fun. The show was as great as ever, and just

more fun than two barrels of monkeys and a box of Pop Tarts. Can’t wait ‘til next time.
