WINE
2013 Twisted Chardonnay. Manteca, California This Chardonnay is
a medium-bodied wine, offering aromas of re- freshing citrus, pear, green apple, honeydew melon and hints of soft, toasty oak. I do so love my oak! Flavors of honey, lemon zest, apple and touches of honey and vanilla pro- vide a wonderful taste
on the palet, leading to a rich, juicy finish. Twisted is the winner of 37 gold medals
and listed in the “9 best buys” in Wine En- thusiest every year since 2007. Pairs well with fish and poultry. I en-
joyed it greatly alongside pecan encrusted and baked salmon. A friend told me she loved it with duck. Twisted!
MUSIC PAIRING: I like it with The Allman brothers Band At Fillmore East.
2015 Yellow Tail Chardonnay Yenda, Australia An amazing and in-
expensive wine, Yellow Tail features flavors of rich tropical fruits and a creamy finish. Cre- ated by the Casella family for three genera- tions, Yellow Tail is soft and fresh with lingering melon flavors
on the tongue.
FOR THE RECORD: The name comes from the yellow-footed rock wallaby, a smaller cousin of the kangaroo that has a golden tail.
Pairs well with sea bass or trout, or roasted chicken!
MUSIC PAIRING: AC/DC Highway to Hell (Rock and roll from down under.)
2014 Fetzer Chardonnay Anthony’s Hill Sundial, California Fetzer is another in-
expensive wine that I quite enjoy. With com- plex aromas of pineap- ple, banana, and honeydew on the nose and flavors of apple, pear and tropical fruit on the pallet, Fetzer is a winner in my book. Good to the juicy fin- ish, with a lingering hint of hazelnut. Pairs well with fish, chicken and pork.
MUSIC PAIRING: It depends on if you are alone or with a special someone. Alone, I would opt for some early Miles Davis. With a significant other, Sinatra or Tony Bennett. That should truly set the mood! •
