• Charles Stanley, the leading Oxford-based wealth manager, has appointed Darrell Dymond as an intermediary sales manager. He will focus on developing the firm’s relationships with financial- adviser businesses across Oxfordshire. Dymond previously worked for MetLife, one of the world’s largest insurance companies, where he spent four years as a business development manager and dealt in all areas of pensions and investments, as well as shaping IFA businesses and providing technical support. This appointment follows Duncan Graham’s recent move to the Oxford office as a result of the successful integration of Charles Stanley’s Newbury office into Oxford.

• Property consultancy Carter Jonas has made six promotions at its Oxford office. Claire Johnson has been promoted to head of new homes, southern region. She advises and assists a broad range of independent developers and housebuilders in their proposed new home-build development schemes. Edmund Smith has been promoted to partner. Within the 10-strong rural team he advises private and institutional landowners on their farms and estates strategy. Emma Jewson has also been promoted to partner. Within the 11-strong planning and development team she specialises in development strategy for private and public-sector clients. Promotions to associate partner are Tanya Hall, who advises private and institutional landlords on residential lettings and management; Christopher Rhodes, a rural surveyor who advises on estate management and asset valuations for private clients, finance providers and institutions; and Tom Forman, a commercial surveyor who advises landlords on leasehold and freehold disposals and provides strategic advice to occupiers.


• Reading-based Blandy & Blandy LLP has appointed solicitors (from left) Paul Linsell and Gemma Kemp to its family law team and Louisa Baker has joined the commercial property team as a solitor. Linsell is a specialist family law solicitor, experienced in assisting with a broad range of private family law matters including all aspects of divorce and separation, financial arrangements, pre-nuptial and other agreements and private children matters. Kemp practices exclusively in family law. Her expertise includes advising clients in relation to divorce, separation and annulments, financial arrangements, children matters and issues between unmarried couples. She also has experience in drafting agreements, including co-habitation and pre-nuptial agreements. Baker trained in the City and joins from Darbys Solicitors LLP. Her focus is on sales and purchases, landlord and tenant matters, secured lending and development work.


• Property consultant Bruton Knowles has strengthened its Guildford team with the appointment of Derek Smyth, a former investment banker turned surveyor, and Steve Pozerskis, a valuations expert. Smyth, who joins as a graduate surveyor, has worked for some of the biggest banks in the world including Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch and UBS, predominantly in securities lending. Pozerskis, who joins from the district- valuer service in Reading as an associate director, will be working with the development and valuation department, both of which are having to meet increasing demands in the key South East region.
