COMMERCIAL PROPERTY CONSULTANCY - FIRM
Sponsored by
Winner: Lambert Smith Hampton
After London, the Thames Valley is the next largest property market in the UK by volume of deals and density.
David Gower announced that this award – another enviable Thames Valley professional ‘title’– would go to the consultancy that had completed the highest total of commercial deals in the office sector across the region in 2015.
Again the judges thanked EGi for helping in the selection process by providing information on the most active firms during the qualifying period.
The shortlisted names were:
• Lambert Smith Hampton • Cushman & Wakefield • JLL
The UK network of Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) includes offices in Reading, Oxford, Maidenhead and Guildford serving Thames Valley clients. The company’s highly regarded Office Market Pulse snapshots reveal that its Thames Valley enquiries in Q1 2016 were at the highest Q1 level ever recorded, with record rents achieved in locations such as Maidenhead, Guildford and Slough.
In 2003 Cushman & Wakefield became the first global real estate firm to open a Thames Valley office, demonstrating its commitment to this dynamic and influential regional market.
Its office sector agency team was CoStar’s Western Corridor Office Acquisitions Winner 2015, and Property Week’s Office Agency Team of the Year 2015.
JLL works with developers, investors, owners, occupiers and public sector organisations on a broad spectrum of office property, including new and refurbished space, business parks, single floors, multi-occupancy buildings

and landmark developments. The firm’s frequent Western Corridor Outlook reports provide a definitive analysis of leasing demand, take-up, supply, development and investment.
This award was sponsored by SEGRO, and Paul Lewis regional director for the Thames Valley and Data Centres, announced the winner – a consultancy “responsible for driving significant investment into the Thames Valley”.
An expectant audience awaited the end of a background music crescendo and then Lewis revealed that Lambert Smith Hampton had achieved a title hat-trick.
Head of the Thames Valley LSH team, Nick Coote, was in the USA “desperately sad that he’s not here tonight but avidly watching on Twitter to see what’s happening,” said his spokesperson, associate director Donna Rourke.
“He’ll be delighted, because this award is really important to us as it’s so personal. We know that we have a very good team with the best research and that overall we provide really good service to our clients year upon year, but this award shows that people recognise that we are the best in the Thames Valley.“
Having a London base and several offices throughout the Thames Valley was a huge advantage, she explained: “At the moment, we are finding that a lot of occupiers are looking to move out of London and so we are best placed to advise them in various areas.
“We have requirements from clients who previously would not have considered such a move. It’s now the first question that people ask about.”
Rourke felt that residential demand to move from London was helping to drive occupier demand, with employers more confident of taking their key staff with them.
